He was born into immense wealth, the cherished child of doting parents who adored him. But fate can be cruel, and Bhagat's life took a tragic turn one fateful evening when his parents were tragically killed in a devastating accident.

Left an orphan, Bhagat's world crumbled around him. The so-called relatives and friends of the family, drawn by the allure of his vast inheritance, descended upon him like vultures, siphoning off his wealth until he had nothing left. The life he once knew vanished, and he found himself alone on the unforgiving streets of the city.

Amidst the chaos of the city, a neighborhood shopkeeper, saw an opportunity to exploit Bhagat's innocence. He offered the young boy food and shelter in exchange for running errands at his shop and home. However, instead of calling him by his name, shopkeeper referred to him as "idiot."

Bhagat, having never truly understood the meaning of the word, grew accustomed to being called "idiot." To him, it didn't matter as long as he had someone to look after him in his parents' absence. Years passed by, and Bhagat's identity became intertwined with the derogatory term.

One day, as fate would have it, a saintly figure roamed into their small corner of the city. He observed the young boy with charm in his eyes and asked gently, "Hey boy, what's your name?" Bhagat, with an air of resignation, replied, "Idiot."

The saint was astonished by this response and probed further, "But what is your real name?" Bhagat hesitated, for he could hardly recall his true name. After a moment's pause, he whispered, "Bhagat."

The saint sat down beside him and listened to the heart-wrenching tale of Bhagat's life. He understood the boy's plight, and a deep sense of compassion washed over him.

The saint began visiting the shop under the pretext of purchasing goods, but his true mission was to impart valuable life lessons to Bhagat. He always addressed the young boy as "Bhagat," gradually replacing the derogatory term with one that held dignity and self-respect.

Days turned into weeks, and the bond between the saint and Bhagat grew stronger with each passing moment. However, the shopkeeper soon realized that he might lose the free services provided by Bhagat if their relationship continued to flourish. He sternly ordered Bhagat to cease all contact with the saint.

Bhagat found himself at a crossroads. He couldn't ignore the valuable lessons and newfound self-respect the saint had instilled in him. In secret, he continued to meet with the saint, revealing his master's ultimatum.

The saint, realizing it was time for Bhagat to break free from his exploitative situation, looked deep into the young boy's eyes and said, "Kid, you are Bhagat, not an idiot. If someone calls you an idiot, you may or may not respond to them because you identify only as Bhagat."

With these words, the saint bolstered Bhagat's self-esteem, allowing him to see through the veil of exploitation. Bhagat made a courageous decision. He informed the master that he aspired to receive an education and set off for a nearby school.

Years flew by, and Bhagat transformed into an educated, resilient, and successful entrepreneur. He climbed the ranks of society and eventually became the fifth richest person in the country.

Bhagat's story is a testament to the power of self-respect, resilience, and the guidance of a wise mentor.

Just as Bhagat reclaimed his identity, his beloved homeland, once known as Bharat, also shed the chains of colonization and emerged as an independent nation. The master symbolized the opportunistic post-independence political figures who exploited the innocence of the newly formed nation's citizens. The saint, who had resurrected Bhagat's self-respect, symbolized the leadership that led the nation to its glory - a leader named Modi, who played a pivotal role in India's resurgence, just as the saint had done for Bhagat. In the end, Bhagat's transformation mirrored the transformation of a nation, from Bharat to India, rising above adversity to reclaim its rightful place in the world.

Andyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12574786719313890241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7704567962559882438.post-39500859131457170262023-05-19T07:54:00.000-07:002023-05-19T07:54:51.131-07:00 Exploring the World of Cinema Beyond Borders: A Personal Journey

In 2007, my cinematic journey took an exhilarating turn when I was introduced to my first world cinema experience through a Mexican psychological drama titled "Amores Perros." This captivating film, comprising three overlapping stories that eventually converged into one, instantly mesmerized me with its gritty visuals and remarkable music. Despite not being a fervent fan of the drama genre, "Amores Perros" paved the way for my exploration of an extensive list of captivating films from around the globe. With subtitles bridging language barriers, I embarked on a cinematic adventure that exposed me to diverse cultures and cinematic brilliance.

It became so addicted that by 2009, I have watched all IMDB top 250 more than once.

In those days, when streaming platforms were not as prevalent, torrenting served as the primary means of accessing international films. However, this approach came with its challenges, including receiving a warning from our Internet Service Provider (ISP) due to potential legal issues. Consequently, a brief pause ensued as we sought alternative methods to continue our cinematic endeavors.

In 2010, a roommate of mine, who shared a similar passion for movies, introduced me to the captivating world of Korean thrillers. Films like "Mother," "Oldboy," and "The Vengeance Trilogy" enthralled me, with a personal favorite being "I Saw the Devil." Coinciding with this period, Netflix transitioned from a DVD-based service to a streaming platform, revolutionizing our movie-watching experience and making it more convenient.

Reflecting upon my journey, it becomes evident that I have watched more films from world cinema than from my own Indian cinema. In 2023, I have made a resolution to delve into Indian classics from the black-and-white era, such as works by Satyajit Ray and Guru Dutt. By expanding my horizons and embracing the richness of various cinematic traditions, I aim to further enhance my appreciation for the art of filmmaking.

Top 10 Flicks from World Cinema: Throughout my exploration of world cinema, several films have left an indelible mark on my cinematic consciousness. Blogger Vs Wordpress

Last week while I was working on revamping the look of this blog, A question hit me - Is Blogger still relevant while I develop most of the blogs/websites for my clients on Wordpress.

I tried to remember the days (2007) when I initially started this blog. I had 2 options Blogger/ Wordpress.

Blogger was self hosting while Wordpress needed to purchase hosting,

Blogger had lot of tutorials though lacking Plugin support. Wordpress had plugins( though limited at that time) but support in terms of documentation was very limited.

The Ecosystem- With everything I do online fully revolved around Google, and Blogger being the product from google and its integration across other google apps including Maps, Google Video/Picasa(Does anyone still remember?), Youtube, Adsense, webmaster, I couldn't think of anything other than blogger for my first blog.

But, Do I have to still be on blogger or migrate to Wordpress like the rest of the world?

I believe " whats working for you doesn't needs to be fixed" rather than going with the Fad.

Though Wordpress evolved exponentially since 2007. Blogger seems to be working fine for me so far.

So the journey still continues... BTW, Hope you like the new look of the blog( Let me know in comments below).Though the theme has been developed by Soratemplates, I had to tweak a lot according to my liking and requirements.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Every human being, poor or rich, there is so much to live for: Happiness of your loved ones, the smile of your child.
But,In our rush for future success, we forget to live our life in the present, and the purpose of our run too. Though there is so much suffering in the world, There are too many Comforts that we had which we always took for granted. We dream for a better future rather than enjoying what we have at present.

We can't change the past as it's done and dusted. Future is uncertain. Just live the present as happily as you can and bring as many smiles in others as well
I remember a message once my cousin shared that's very much relevant

The memories that start marching in a procession
before your eyes, taking your attention away, disturbing your focus are the
worst enemies. Mind plays weird games when you get attached, be it with people
or with things. Detachment is often misunderstood for being Uninterested,
whereas it actually means being Non-Possessive. You have to let go of what
could have been, how you should have acted and what you wish you would have
said differently. You have to accept that you can’t change the past
experiences, opinions of others at that moment in time or outcomes from their
choices or yours. We should learn to detach ourselves from us, thereby
achieving freedom, the inner freedom. The inner freedom lets you expect nothing
from you nor from others thereby providing Tranquility. Detach yourself and enjoy
the Reality.

“Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.”

Several times in my life I was almost a step away from starting a Startup. Applauded as great and novel ideas by the few whomever I have shared them with. Mostly due to time constraints and lack of capital (Bootstrapping didn’t help much), none of those ideas really kicked off.
Whenever i come up with an innovative idea and explain it to someone whom i am comfortable to discuss with (Friends, Family and Relatives), all i hear them say - "Dude! You are too young to take such Risks!!"
My answer to them : The first rule for an entrepreneur - “Accept the risk of failure" - You shouldn't fear failure, but embrace the process that comes along with it and I am ready to take it.
While the likes of Mark Zuckerberg who are of my age have started almost 8 years earlier than me, why not me?
I wish I could find some funding from Angel Investors/ Crowd Funding and hope there are few startup’s in my future, at least few years down the lane……….I want to be a Doer, not a Dreamer!

Though busy with work, I will try to publish the blog frequently at least every weekend. I would like to call them “The WEP’s” / Week End Posts.

Both portraits are Inspired from their famous posters!

In the Image above are two of my Favorite film Directors of all time - Alfred Hitchcock , Akira Kurosawa!! It was difficult to decide who was the best among them, so i put it in an art form. Both the portraits were done in parallel on the same canvas, No video effect used!! Mind your own business. - Ann Landers

I had to write this post out of frustration being caused by few people lately. I don’t understand the point in people poking their noses in to my matters and decisions which I never asked. I have always been ready to hear their advices, but that does not make me to follow those advices.

These people don’t stop at giving advices, rather they persistently try gibing at your abilities and inabilities as if they are the masters of all trades.I agree that they may be good at few things that they are doing, but I don’t think they are good at / have right for judging my capabilities. I don’t understand how they forget/ ignore the fact completely that I am far more superior at doing few things than them except that I don’t like to gasconade about those things.

I am happy even if I may not be making more money than them, remember that I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth and whatever I am today(better than what I was) is just because of me and my decisions.

All these years, I have been silently absorbing these jibes. Had I not been so polite I might have given them a piece of my mind, but I don't think I would be able to control myself anymore and would definitely try to do and succeed what these guys are best at(Mortifying).

I had to put this here to stop worrying about these douche heads and enjoy rest of my weekend.
Andyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12574786719313890241noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7704567962559882438.post-65771913480120838892011-09-28T22:17:00.000-07:002011-09-30T08:59:28.511-07:00Rockstar 2011 All Promo Songs (30 Secs)

Now that we have an answer to “What do we need to start a startup?” comes the next question – “What are the types of startups?” / “What type of Startup my company would come under?”
As Steve Blank explains in a detail here, the six types of Startups

Lifestyle Startups : “The Passionate Startups” These are the individuals that make their Passions and interests into a startup. A web designer or a Painter is living their life they love and Money is secondary to them.

Small Business Startups : “The Everyday Startups” These are the every day businesses. They make almost 99.7% of total companies. Consultants, Grocery Stores, Electricians etc., fall under this category

Scalable Startups : “The Born to be Big Startups” These are the ones who always believed that their product will change the world. Facebook, Twitter, Skype etc., are all path defying and have achieved big.

Buyable Startups : “The Born to Flip Startups” These are the ones who always wanted to develop their product, make it popular and sell it to a bigger firm for a good profit.

Large Company Startups : “The Big Innovative Startups” With more and more new startups coming up each day, it has become more difficult for the larger companies such as Microsoft, Google etc., to grow through “Sustaining Innovation” ( Offer new products that are variants of their core products. For Example : Google Docs or Calendar). These companies now have focused on “Disruptive Innovation” (Create entirely new products than their core products. For Example : Android from Google)

Social Startups : “The Difference making Startups” These are the ones that want to make this world a better place and are not to create wealth for the founders.

So, choose which one does your Dream Startup is and leave your valuable comments.

They even have great ideas to go with their capabilities. But still, the only thing that stops them from achieving their goals is the “Belief” in them. With belief in their capabilities and ideas comes the attitude to take risks. Even in a college game, there is a risk of loosing the toss even before the start of the game(Forget about the game). For something that is destined to change the future of yours as well as the world’s, taking risk is never a wrong idea. And always remember “You have a 50% chance of being successful if you take a risk, if you don’t you end up at 0%”

So friends, Always Dream Big and Don’t fear about the risks!

By the way, I would like to suggest an excellent read Enchantment by +Guy Kawasaki . This post has been long overdue.Lying in my drafts to be posted for a few months, finally polished it and here it is.
As we grow older, we find someone to look up to. Virtually everyone has someone that they admire. Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments, and values. I admire them and aspire to be like( or better than) what they are.

My Mom - After losing my father in an accident when I was just 13, it was my Mom who has been taking care of entire family through all the difficult times. She is strong willed, kind hearted, selfless and sacrificial.I save my admiration for her because of all she has done for me in my life. She is a person who taught me many important lessons which will help me in my life. She has an undeclared philosophy of never to get depressed when you fail. To her, I am an open book. She has been a support to me in all of my adverse situations. She always motivated me to take new challenges and never to back out of them. Whatever I am Today and whatever I am going to be Tomorrow, I owe it all to her.

A R RAHMAN - I have already blogged about this Genius quite a few times. My admiration to him grew with me. I literally worship him! I call him the GOD!! There are several days in my life I lived just on his music. There is a healing power in it. Be it the soothing “Bombay Theme” or the effervescent “Rangeela Theme”, he has been a true “Rockstar”! One of the reasons why I admire him may be that I can correlate his childhood to mine and also struggle he faced to become the face of the nation, making Indians all over the world proud. Say Jai Ho!!

My Uncle / Teacher / Mentor - Mr. K. Govardhan Reddy - Being Principal of the school I studied and also my Uncle, he played a major role in my life. I still remember when he made me to sit in between two toppers of my class to learn Math( I always was below average in Math) from them in our reading class. I was always wondering in my childhood how a person can have so much of knowledge and education (MSc, MEd, MBA) as him. He has this ability to listen what we had to say, to empathize with and to understand our point. I had Participated ( and Won) several “General Knowledge” “Essay Writing” and “Painting” competitions only with his support. He has been a true inspiration not only to me but a few hundred students who studied in the school. Personally, he has been a great support for me to pursue my MBA. Over the years, he successfully made the transition from a strict principal to a great mentor. Now a successful Businessman, he will always remain a shining example for me.

Now that I have finished this task of putting together the people I admire, lies ahead a huger task of following their footsteps, which I am trying with my baby feet.

Going through the current market scenario, most success has been achieved by startups. I started finding my answers for “How to start a Startup?”

One common thing among all Startups is Innovation.

Innovation seems to be the flavor of the season, but one thing that confuses everyone is where does this innovation come from? Is it the same as Invention?

Invention and Innovation go hand in hand but they are as different as milk to water. Invention is to find a new thing and Innovation is applying someone’s invention to a more practical use. For example : Everyone knows Graham Bell invented Telephone, But how many knows who invented the Mobile Phone? Compare Telephone (Invention) to Mobile Phone (Innovation).

In my opinion innovations always causes huge revolutions than the inventions. Touch screen smart phones have been in the existence for more than a decade. But the Innovative iPhone started the entire revolution.

Innovation can start from anywhere! A differently thinking brain with few steps in the right direction can lead to Innovation. As someone rightly said “An Innovator is not the one who comes with an idea but he is the one who makes that idea work”

The first step in starting a startup is Innovation. So be innovative and think Different.

                                                                                                                  To be continued…
Andyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12574786719313890241noreply@blogger.com0
